    Type VR door pins

I've always been after the Irmscher ones but they go for too much for what they are. so I bought 4 Type VR ones off ebay.

they're not cheap and tacky as I thought they would be. they've got a good weight and feel to them.
I had to take the door cards off though to put them on. they are supposed to push on and screw the rest down and tighten the grub screw, but 3 of the holes were slightly too small.

I had to file the door pin rod thread a bit as I had no drills where I was.

    Only £7.75 a pair.

These are the ones I bought.
I should have took some pics of them fitted to the car.

Why do you need the door card off? Mine (the same ones) fitted nice and flush without having to do that.

I had to take the cards off because the rod was too wide for the holes. and the one that went on (front door) theres a bit at the bottom that stops it going all the way into the pin.
I could have got away with drilling the hole slightly bigger probably. the grub screw should still be visible at the top.

Honestly it's not a big a job as you think taking the cards off and filing. the card only has to come awy (you don't need to disconnect any wiring and such)

open the hole up with a drill bit, far simpler than removing door cards and filing rods etc...but you use what tools u have to hand dont you.

look better than expected good find!
