    hot hot hot!

high all, this may sound stupid but my sri turbo engine gets ever so hot really quickly(within being on for a fe minutes) i have a frontmount, stainless pipes with dv, cdti air box, the temprature gauge on the dash is working fine and doesnt over heat etc all fluids etc and oil are fine..

is this normal or any ideas?

    thanks

I have a cracked manifold on mine (Not a turbo though) and it runs silly hot because of it, before it cracked it never got so bad.

I was going to post this exact thread earlier this afternoon. Drove 11 miles home and was burning up. The coolant tank when releasing some of the pressure was steaming out the cap. Seems to have got a lot worse recently. Was looking to buy a cool running thermostat to try to combat it but got lost looking at a load of threads.
A mates already done a head gasket check and its fine. The coolant bottle is about half empty when i stop up but returns slowly. Pump somewhere broken? How do you check for a cracked manifold?

Is the water being pumped around ok? How hot is hot? Mine will get to 95c, but only after some abuse or when sat in traffic after a run. Will take 10-15mins normally to get up to temperature.

yeh it does feel stupidly hot near the manifold, straight away within 3 minutes of starting it up, how ever the temp gauge doesnt shoot up untill i drive and then it just sits normally.

maybe there is a crack my manny, i need to change my turbo etc asap, hopefully this will sort it but what could i do in the mean time? getit welded up if it is a crack?

These engines run hot anyway. I thought that not long after i bought mine. turns out it's normal Don't know about after 3 mins mind you but after giving it the beans you can get your manifold to glow
