    Z19DTH vacuum pipes

Was checking out the vacuum pipes on the bus yesterday and have a question for anyone who might be in the know.

The vacuum feed appears to come out of the vacuum pump, across the top and down the back of the engine and back up again through a pair of metal pipes on top of the cam cover, joins to another metal pipe that goes across the front of the engine above the manifold/turbo, then off to the boost solenoid behind the front bumper.

My question is, what's down the back of the engine that needs a vacuum supply? I couldn't see or reach all the way down the back as the Zaf has a dirty great scuttle panel in the way.

    Hi Andy
I believe they go to a vac box and then return to the front, bit silly really as the pipes are not used at the back.
    Hope that helps

Interesting cheers. I wonder what would happen if I bypassed it??

(Trying to rule out a potential vacuum leak you see!)
