    coolant temp fluctuating

    hi,

ive read this problem before but cant find it again

when driving i notice the coolant gauge changing from about 80 to 88 which im sure it should sit at a steady 86?

so what can cause this? ive changed the coolant temp sensor and done the earth mod in the loom.

where does the earth for the sensor end up? as thinking could need cleaning up.

Coolant earth comes from the ECU and I believe it goes through the earth mod you have done. Will find out for certain when I do mine

I found all my mk 4 astras have been like this. I think the gauges are too sensitive. Mine will be between 80 And 90 degrees. Its not a problem really unless it goes above half way (90). And the fans dont come on. If its between this and the fans come on then id leave it. I changed alsorts trying to stop it. Its just the way they are.
At the end of the day, it gets dark!!!!!
