About 3 weeks ago i was driving along the motorway and the engine management light came on (orange car with spanner through it). I stopped on the hard shoulder, turned the car on and off and the light went out. I never thought much of it and continued driving. Anyway, today it came on and is now not going off. I tried the pedal test and it came up with 2 codes:
- ECN 50074
- ECN 3800F
I gave the dealers a call and they said that they would have to plug the car in and check it themselves. They charge £85 for the diagnosis plus whatever it costs to repair it.
Any ideas what these codes mean? and also can any other garage diagnose and fix these faults? or will i have to part with the cash at the dealers? (assuming of course that these fault codes are what is causing the EML light to come on)
Thanks in advance
