    Calling all convertible owners..........

    Hello,

Im coming round to the idea of maybe getting a linea rossa 2.2 convertible but as I've never had a convertible before I have a few questions I would like to ask......

    1. How much boot space do yo have left when the roof is down?
    2. Are they noisey on the motorway?
    3. Does the roof bow out when you are travelling fast?
    4. What is it like to drive generally compared to a hardtop?
    5. Do you regret getting one?

    Cheers guys

astra 2.0 - Voodoo_Craig is selling his linea rossa convertable and he is a member on here. There is a post about it, he said there was an issue he had and the EML came on. he has only had a a few months and bought it from someone here.

Very nice looking car is the linea rossa. might be worth havign a word with him, it might be an easy fix and you could have a cheap car to!!!

Ok then how much of the boot is taken up by the roof compared to a normal coupe?

And when you say there is more flex, can you actually feel it in the handling or are you just saying that as its a well know fact with most convertibles?

    Thanks again

Already answered but my 2p's worth

    1. Roof does not fold into the boot so no difference.
    2. Noisey compared to what? Noisier than a coupe, yeah its only fabric. To noisy that its a pain, not at all. Obviously things like your speed make a difference but so can a different set of tyres. But with the roof down its bloody noisy and windy, ha ha!!
    3. Nope, great roof when its closed. Very tight fit, also no leaks.
    4. At "normal" usage it feels just like a coupe. Drive it hard or spirited it doesnt handle like the coupe as there is less rigidity due to not having the roof to offer strength to the car. Long and short - dont buy one for a track car.
    5. Nope especially not on sunny days with the roof down

All in all its a very practicle way of getting topless, decent boot, with roof up its like a "normal" car but you get roof down fun to.

    Hear This,
I'am negotiating buying a 05 cabby turbo, but the roof has been cut (theiving beggers)

So i'm negotiating buying another 04 cabby z18xe wright off wth a good roof and lots of good parts, Any one?

However i wasn;t quick enough and the private seller said the back bumper had been sold and whist the buyers were taking it off they stole the roof ecu,

How on earth do people (if one can call them that) live with themselves?
