If the paint is looking a little tired a paint cleanser like dodo juice lime prime/lite or swissvax cleaner fluid will pep up the paint.
Its always best to clay the paint after washing to get the best out of the finish and remove conatminants.
    Try this:

I test run a lot of there products and tbh they are really good value and finish, ease of use etc.

    It's a wax.

If it hasn't been looked after much then a decent wash, clay, wash then polish followed by a decent wax will work wonders. Nice colour you have so you should easily see the difference.

You need to polish the car to restore colour, not wax it.

First of all clay the car, then use something like Dodo Lime prime, or Auto Glym super resin to polish it. The finish that off with Dodo Blue velvet for protection.

As said in my first response, a cleanser will help dramatically.
Wax is a last step product to proect the finish only, there is seldom rarely a difference in looks from a wax.
Waxes are warmer, sealants are glassy.

You will want to give the car a thorough wash off.
Use a dedicated tar remover to remove all tar deposits on paintwork.
Re-rinse then clay the car to remove bonded contamination.
    Re-rinse then dry.
Using a pre wax cleanser like lime prime you will be slightly polishing aswell as lime prime has micro abrasives incorporated to bring up teh paint nicely.
The glazing oils richen and nourish the paint and when removed leaves the paint creaking clean ready for wax.
Lime prime is best applied to half a panel at a time worked well then removed, its a wipe on wipe off product, no curing time essential.
Apply the wax, leave to cure then remove and job done.
