How often do you change your oil?

My 1.4 16v last had an oil change 5000->6000 miles ago. Do you think I could do with giving it another change?

This would be my first time changing the oil on it as it was last done during an annual service.

    should I use 5w 40 or 10w 40 semi synthetic?

Also, i heard someone mention a sump plug seal.

    what do you folks think?

    Cheers!!

    Ste

20,000 mile intervals for me, not a mark inside the engine at 156,000....motorway miles though. 2yrs or 20,000 is the OEM interval but every 12 months is best.

10w/40 semi-synth from Vauxhall - oil and filter on Trade Club via AOC is about £12.50.
