    Looks like turbo's gone, Again!!!

    Hi all,

***in gutted, Engine making more like a cat meoow than boosting.

Think the turbo as gone again, had a new VXR turbo fitted 21/05/2009
    purchased from autovaux (wakefield)...

Check all pipes and clear, no blockages, checked oil and looks a bit watery
checked intercooler and watery oil in pipes

there is still no e.m.l or owt and no normal blue smoke you get when turbo goes and its not making boosting noise like normal, just a horrible like cat meoowing noise instead.

VauxParts best get ready!!! Going to get mechanics to check it 2morrow for defo but they already said it sounds like internal turbo malfunction!

    GREAT¬!

UPDATE: The turbo units only come with 12 months or 12,000 miles warranty, The failed turbo was fitted on or around 21/05/2010 and as covered under 12,000 miles since was fitted. This turbo is also a known concern and as had multiple field remedys and recalls since production, So as per this reason i have today contacted VAUXHALL CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICE and complained about the unit being fault again. After i lengthy conversation and what i told them that the part had covered under 12,000 miles since it was fitted and was a genuine part and car has been fully serviced e.t.c e.t.c they have agreed as a gesture of goodwill to contribute 60% towards a new turbo unit, Which i think is a result bearing in mind my car is 2004 reg with 71k on clock. However they need sp see reciept of fitting and supplied part as proof to honour their goodwill offer, So awaiting that from the company (autovaux) that supplied the part.
    New turbo is £650 +vat
modified hose kit is £110 +vat (-60% off parts only)
    fitting is around £200 +vat

JUST PLAYING WAITING GAME NOW, HAVING FITTED A VAUXHALL WHERE I WORK, SO SHOULD BE DONE PROPERLY, However got another problem my gaffer is being a bit of a arse about it for some reason!
