    Bluefin for 1.3cdti

    Anyone tried it?
Is it just one tuning map, or several options as for the EDS IPF. Anyone checked with them what kind of gains one can expect?

I had a TMS Bluefin for my car and only had access to one map (until I added some hardware to my car and requested they send me a map for the next stage of tune, which they did free of charge, but you can't swap between maps using the Bluefin). Not sure what gains you'd get with it though, Magnul.

Have you looked at any of the DTUK tuning box products? They are the specialists when it comes to tuning diesel cars and their tuning boxes are cheaper. Some good gains too.

I have looked at the DTUK products, and I'm very close to buing a CRD-T. However, I'm a bit concerned about smoke. My car doesn't smoke at all, and I intend to keep it that way. I pretty sure a remap is better than a box when it comes to smoke.

Do TMS make their own maps or are the bluefin maps from superchips? Superchips states 104hp for the 1.3cdti, and that doesn't impress me much.

I'd say that the DTUK tuning boxes are a lot more popular with the diesel guys than Bluefin units. You may be right about the smoking and a remap being better for your car than the tuning box, but you should send a PM to member Andrew888 as he is the owner of DTUK. He is very knowledgable and he will point you in the right direction. There may be some people using the Bluefin on their diesels, but I personally don't know of any. I used to have a Bluefin and swapped over to EDS IPF a few months ago.
