I've got a small problem with my Mk4 Astra cabriolet that I was hoping someone could help me fix.
Basically the roof has a length of cord/string on either side that pulls the inside lining of the roof tort against the C pillar when the roof is closed. This string just runs through a series of eyelets with some metal clips along its length to keep it in the right place.
The drivers side string on mine has snapped and I was wondering whether anyone else has experienced the same problem and how they've fixed it? I've tried securing the ends together with a small cable tie but it has come out again. There also doesn't seem enough slack on the string to simply tie the ends back together. Replacing it for a new string seems to be a sensible option but I've no idea whether I can also buy these metal clips as well (they're not reusable) - they're sort of like metal circles that have been crimped into position on the string.
Any help is much appreciated. It's not preventing the roof working but the inside lining now hangs down on the drivers side and looks untidy
