Confused about my SRi-T brakes (pics)

Had a new set of discs and pads put on the car last week but since its rained ive noticed something that confuses me.

Got the discs from CRN Products

Got the rear pads from Autovaux (93176118 )

And the yellow stuff front pads from Camskill (DP41183R)

Now its rained im getting a rusty ring on each disc - usually this is worn off as soon as you brake.

Have i got the wrong size discs or pads? - as far as i know theres only two rear pads - bosch and lucas. (Lucas on mine) so it must be the discs.

I think its 308mm front and 264mm rear. But the mk5 vxr has bigger rear discs if i read correctly. Maybe i got sent the wrong ones?

Is there any problem in the long run?

    Front -

    Rear -

    I dont like it

    thats perfectly normal

the very inner part of the disc remains unswept by the pad surface

everything is correct - youve got the right parts - thats just how it works!

best thing to do is remove the discs and paint the unswept areas with black hammerite - done!

    Thanks for the quick reply.

Ive already painted all the outer edges of the discs and the inner part near the hub. I was sure at the garage we'd measured the discs against each other to be on the safe side.

Had never noticed it on the old brake setup. Just seems very odd that you'd get a larger disc than needed.

Yup, i can see from your pic now. Will leave it for now and then paint up once i know the track its making.

I think there used to be 2 types of pad. 1 of these was specific to the VXR and the other is a pad that fits both the VXR and the smaller non-VXR discs too (in their respective calipers)
