    irmscher bits insurance query?

hi guys im sadly reverting my astra to standard so that my wife can learn to drive without me forking out another £400 on insurance

im loosing the lowered suspension and full exhaust

ive also got an irmscher spoiler and dont want to really go looking around for a boot in the same colour or get the holes filled in and sprayed and also after going to the scrappies for a standard exhaust ive stumbled across a irmscher dd back box he only wants £30 for it would these still count as a modification as its a factory option??

im with adrian flux if it helps

Technically anything which is added to the car after it leaves the factory is a modification and needs to be declared I am afraid.

well any insurance on any car for a learner is going to be expensive mate, oh and an irmscher spoiler 9/10 is factory fitted on most astras so why should it be classed as a mod

Anything added after the car was sold is a modification, simple as really, no matter if it is standard on some models or not!

It would be a bit like me putting VXR wheels on my car and saying oh its ok I don't need to declare them, they come factory standard on "some" Astras!

Irmscher stuff came from some cars from the factory, so they could be classed as standard parts?

i told my insurance when getting it i had 18" vxr alloys, the woman asked .. are they genuine vauxhall? i said yeah , and she goes that wont affect the price.

My renewal in may, told them i had changed back to standard 17s but had been painted, again said wouldnt affect anything.
