I think I'm actually pretty good at controlling my anger, dont tend to lash out at anyone or anything, just depends on the situation really. I'll try and walk away, count to 10, ignore people things like that.
Some people say if I was any more laid back, I'd be horizontal, in that i dont let things get to me

Ask yourself if you can actually change the situation by getting angry or violent ?
..or will it escalate the problem ?

Almost always its the latter....so count to 10 and tell yourself that getting angry wont help.
Walk away happy in the knowledge that you rose above the situation and dealt with it calmly.

more specifics would maybe help you more......

thats all i good in theory but your forgeting the problems arises from the person being unable to think clearly and i dont think the sulution is to attemot to do all that as thats alot of thinking

I don't get angry anymore, well, not that its obvious anyway,

I used to bottle my anger up, and playing golf helped because one has to keep cool tempermentaly at a higher level, and one has to control anger,
secretly i used to beat hell out of the ball and vent it off that way,

To me it,s all about control, the more angy i became inside, the cooler i became on the outside, try it sometime,
The trouble is that anger sometimes needs to be vented, which was difficult for me,
    and i fell ill
