    can cars knacker ecu's

    apparently my car/ how is was mapped wrecked the last one. mechanic has put a standard set back in and he says it might of wrecked this one. as soon as my car boosts it forces a misfire which resets if the engine is switched off and on. is he habin me on cause i don't wanna be forkin out money for nothing??

    by mechanic what do you mean? i'f you diddnt take it to vaux to have the generic turbo map put on then there may be the problem.

    it was doing the same thing before we swapped the ecu back to standard, then it was boost surge boost and now just misfires under load

    boost leak, nackered dump vlave, plugs, coil pack, broken bcs, stuck actuator?? i very much doubt its the map/ecu mate
