    Hella DynaBeams

I've finally got my new SRI 150 =D, and bought some Hella Dynabeams which I'm hoping to have on by Monday.... But reading the fitting instructions I've stuck a potential issue........
According to the fitting guide, I quote:

" As legislature requires a control lamp for
the electronics of the headlight, the next
step is to connect this control lamp and
position it in the interior, on the
    dashboard."

It goes on to say this lamp needs to be fitted to the dash in the line of sight of driver. Does anyone know why this control lamp is needed or if in fact it really is???
Has anyone else got dynabeams???? I cant imagine if you had the AFL's as standard this was neccessary so not sure why it's needed.

Any help would be much appreciated as I want to get these fitted to my car asap but am a bit concerned about the above.

    Thanks

Don't worry about it Buddy, you already have the control switch for the use of your headlamps on your dash. Your Dynabeams will switch on and off via the same switch as you currently use, ie your sidelights, your dipped beams and your main beams, all of which also have illuminated dash lights to indicate they are switched on. If something goes wrong with the Dynabeams electronics that lamp will illuminate to tell you that there is a problem.

I would imagine that the Canbus system would flag up any problem with the lights via the wiring as it would with standard headlights fitted, ie by throwing up an error on the dash. May be wrong, of course, but that's how I understand it.

Dynabeams have their own control unit to control the turning of the lights etc.

Cool Dude, I just haven't heard of anyone else who has Dynabeams fitted to their car also adding a switch to their dash for them. Soz if I gave any wrong info.

OK, I haven't heard of anyone having to add a lamp, either. x

Don't think I'll bother with the lamp seems like alot of extra work for nothing I'm sure if my headlights fail I'd know.......
Another question though is it possible to stick HIDs in the dynabeams?? Or will the standard bulbs be enough??? Anyone got any ideas??

An H7 Canbus compatible 35W HID kit with a colour temp of either 4300K or 6000K would be perfect for your Dynabeams (4300K would be pure white and 6000K would be white with a slight blue tinge. I have 6000K in my Hella BiXenons). They'd look very OE and it would be much better than putting Halogen bulbs in them. Remember to post some pics when you've got them fitted.
