    [Help]Z18xe Inlet manifold replica

    Hi everyone!

I've bought a replica of a Dbilas inlet manifold to the z18xe engine on ebay,it was fitted 2 days a go and a moticed that the entry of the manifold is too high....so i see it was to my engine but in the Corsa and Tigra, because of that i can't fit the stock aix box,so it was a cone behind the headlight!

The great problem is that since it was fitted my car is running much slower, could this be from the entry of the manifold?

The car have no errors on the ECU!

Please help me,i spend a loto of money and the car is worse!

    Sorry for my english!

    Cheers

did you say you fitted a cone filter. If so it could be heat soak
you gotta love it when you make the boys weep

I've been thinking about that but i think it's a great diference to be done just by the filter!

At a guess it'll feel worse low down but you may find it quicker higher up the rpm range - what you've done is reduce restrictions to the airflow into the engine. At lower rpms this lower gas flow speed will mean lower power, but the reduced restrictions will mean it can flow better theoretically giving a higher top end output.

Cone filters can suffer badly from heat soak - the engine bay air is much warmer than the air drawn in from the OEM piping over the raditator, and hot air is less dense = less oxygen = less power from the explosion.

had the same problem with mine, and same engine (z18xe) and nry is right, car runs like a bucket of bolts, lack of power and sluggish at lower revs and lumpy at tick over

At lower revs the car is fine, but passing 4000rpm it lacks something!

I was looking for options and since the manifold is for Corsas/Tigras and think a can fit a Airxbox from the Corsa C!

Could be running very lean - DBilas recommend a remap with this manifold fitted.

Maybe it's that, for example the car is 1 second slower from 0 to 100km/h

    Stock inlet:8,9 s
    New Inlet:10s

    The same with the reprises:

    60 to 100 km/h in 3RD was 6.5 seconds now is 7,4 seconds.

I also have other mods made:

    4-1 exhaust manifold
    No middle silencier
vectra C pipe with derestricted air box with KN filter
    Ngk Iridium Spark plugs

With these mods it made 135bhp and 180nm of torque, the inlet and remap are the last mods.

Then i have to open a topic to my car.

180nm is ~132ftlbs - funny, the ftlbs seems a tad fixed on these smaller NA engines, mine pulled 131ftlbs on a Z16XE with all except the same exahsut manifold as yours. Not much bhp gain there though, it's 125 standard on yours, remap may well sort that out.
