Wrong size wheels for my car?

I have 18" Kosei RZ alloys on my 1999 SRi and I think theyre too big for the arches. Was having a chat with a mate after work and he said the reason theyre scraping the feck outa my arches is the fact that theyre too big for my arches?

Anyone care to help me out with this? My rear arches are bent to crap because of them.

Theyre 215 35 ZR 18" tyres on them, not sure of the offset but this is doing my nut in, car is lowered 40mm, but I dont see anyone else I know with this problem even with bigger drops?

sound like the incorrect offset mate they should not be rubbing with those tyres have you changed the shocks as the standard ones with just a set of springs could be to bouncy and this could also affect it!

As far as I know the suspension and the springs were changed, as my shock absorbers are bright yellow, and I dont think standard Astra shocks are yellow?

Well mine is lowered 30 mm with 19's there running 235/35/19 and I have no trouble . I can even lower it probs to about 60mm but the skirts won't let me . So must be wrong offset

take one of the wheels off and have a look for a stamp mark on the back of the rim saying 'ET**' the ** will be two numbers, let us know what it is

sounds like a incompatible ET to me, but could also be a combination of offset and lowering - get them both wrong and all hell will break lose

tyre size is correct so give us some more details and we can tell u for sure

Personally id want the ET to be between 38 & 49 if were talking 18s and slightly lowered - that is if u just want hassle free
