    Clonk noise when turning

    Ok

First off I have used the search function to try and recify but to no avail.

Basically I think mainly when turing right I get a clonk noise from the car. I can't work out where it is. My gf when sitting in the passengerseat thinks it is from the back left.

My car is fitted with a RARB but it seems to be fitted solidly.

I have just had new dampers fitted all round (the sound was where before and still there now)

I was wondering about the front drop links. I have had a wriggle around with them, but I can't get them to knock. They do however wriggle on their ball (?) mounts but I don't know how much play they should have.

I would describe the sound as hollow sound. I have tried everything I can think of. I've emptied the car, adjusted the boot stops, replaced the dampers, checked the RARB all to no results

    Any ideas???

    Thanks

    James

forgot the mention - it only does it at low speeds. At high speeds (above 20-25mph) it is fine

The car handles great and drives fine - but this clonk is driving me insane

It's not on full lock either - just maybe when the bottom spoke of the steering wheel is a 9 oclock if that makes sense

not the ball joints then. can move droplinks as there on a ball so you can twist them easily, also they would make a clunk noise if you went over a bump i think, and not when steering.

not sure what else it could be, springs jumping round as you turn steering at low speeds possibly?

dont think this is steering related but sometimes at low speeds my car makes a clunky noise from the back brakes sounds like handbrake not fully disengaged or pads sticking or piston not retreating properly.

mine clicks on half lock or turning any corner while giving it some power on corners....

jack car up and check the bot / cv joint.. push up on driveshaft.. there will be very slight and a do mean slight movement, any more than that would suggest teh joint is on its way out..

lowerd cars tend to damage these far more than non lowerd ones too ..
