hi all, wondering if you guys could give me some advice. my car went into my insurers local "approved" body repair centre over 2 weeks ago for a simple repair to the passenger side door and bumper touch up where and old guy had hit it while parking. got the long awaited phone call yesterday to say the astra was ready to be picked up. i went to the garage and signed to say i had accepted the repairs to the body work left the courtessey car and left. noticed the brakes were very poor/ non existant, drove home as they started to get a little bit better but hardly anything, so thought i'd get home and ring them, only live about 4 mile away. started to get a strong smell of burning, within seconds the drivers wheel arch was engulfed in smoke and looked like it was on fire. i got out to see that the paint was bubbling on the alloy, went to the passenger side and it was doing i too but not as much. the heat of the alloy could be felt over a foot away from it! noticed they had sprayed some sort of back to black all over the tires and alloys, which led me to think they had sprayed it on the disc causing the heat build up. it was like a thick sticky spray. the garage are denying it and are saying its whoever fitted the brakes 2000 mile ago. they have the car but are causing a fuss. what do i do?
sorry for long post but the only way to explain it
