Right, just fitted a new vxr turbo to my LET, an uprated one from CR Turbos...
Came with about 10-15 threads showing on the actuator rod (more than 7 anyway), all was fine except the idle was a bit irratic so adjusted it to 4 threads as i've read on here is correct for the let?
Only thing is its now chattering like a mad un when you come off the throttle....
the cars just been in a garage for what turned out to only be core plugs, thought it was something more but they have had my pants down for it anyway, so while it was in, i asked them to look at the turbo, they recon it needs to come off and be sent for re-con!! its brand new, yet to do a mile, the engine has only been up to temp once so i'm dubious that its as major as they are making it sound.
i get the car back tomorrow, its gettin a tow (was towed to the garage) so wont be running with the turbs in its current state, when i get it back is there a way to set the actuator to an ideal position? i have a boot gauge so i just need to know how its done?? i just need it right before it goes for a map next week when the tuning company will set it correctly anyway.
i'm thinking as its an uprated turbo, and it came with the actuator wound so far up, it might not be the std ko4 actuator but i'm not sure. Like i say, was fine when first fitted if a little irratic on idle but that could have been cuz its not been turned over for nearly a year and was been powered on jump leads.
anyone got any ideas?
