    wots the difference

    Gonna need more power than 260bhp so been told I need a vxr turbo and obviously the other bits but was wondering what the difference is between standard zlet turbo and the vxr one. I've got a standard turbo I would be able to send away but can you hybrid these the same as you can with the vxr one

    yes you can uprate /hybrid them , they are essentially the same turbo.

    So no real benefit in buying a vxr one then.

    Think am gonna send me standard spare one away for hybrid then, cos i presume a hybrid one gonna be more reliable for the increased power/boost it will be seeing.

    You wouldnt happen to know the best place to buy new manifold bolts would ya and arp head bolts while am on

    not a massive amont if the let one is servicable, although the vxr manifold is stronger.

    personally id send the turbo off to turbo dynamics, and get gm manifold studs and nuts, from vauxhall

    manifold is stronger on the vxr unit and actuator is as hold twice the boost as let one, also think the compressor is bigger being ko4 leh and i think the let is ko3 ??

    i thought the compressor wheel is the same mate, what ever the differences 1 will be as good as the other after a proffesional rebuild

    The Standard z20Let turbo is a K04 Turbo not K03.... plus there has not yet been any evidence to back up the claim that the VXR Cast Manifold is indeed stronger than that of the Let Manifold.....

    no evidence so to speek but the fact that you read about the let cracking a lot more than the vxr susjests so

    I have owned several let and leh turbo's. both are very similar, but the feed piping differs, and the leh(vxr) one has a stronger manifold, leh are prone to crack,as mentioned,
    The fitting to both let and leh head are the same as well as oil feed(i think) water cooling differs if that makes sense,
    i might have some good mani bolts, and deffo head bolts

    fitting is the same, all you have to do is swap a coolant connection over on the turbo, takes 2 mins.
