    P0170 fault code - since remap

    Evening all. i've had the fuel trim malfunction fault appear on three occasions since the following mods were done last week;

    Vxr injectors
    Vxr AFM
    courtenay stage 4 remap.

    the fault seems to appear after i have given it some beans, say when idling at traffic lights. i've had a good look around the engine bay, everything seems to be fitted ok, no leaks that i can detect. has anyone got any thoughts on this, before i get on the phone to courtenays tomorrow. i dont particularly fancy another 500 mile round trip if i can get away with it...

    jimbo

    ps i tried some new NGK platinums today, but its still the same.

    This error code is a bug bare of mine! I constantly have it coming and going but I can't figure out the cause. I have changed plugs, AFM, Exhaust sections, Lambda is pretty much only thing left I have to change and see if it will clear it!!!

    I replaced the lambda only a few months ago, and I've disconnected the battery a couple of times since to reset the code and to do the plugs

    It just seems odd that I've never had that fault before the map, so something being pushed out range on a sensor or not measuring up to ecu tables

    Thanks for the info mate. I'll give courtenays a ring tomorrow, and see what they suggest

    i spoke to courtenays this morning, and they suggested it's most likely the lambda sensor, damaged wiring or an ecu fault. i've just this minute swapped in my old O2 sensor and removed the heat wrapping off the dowmpipe (as i guess this might have prematurely killed the sensor due to trapping excess heat in the pipe). i'll see how this goes for the next few days. cheers
