    Cats On A Mk4 GSI

    Iev heard there are 2 cats on a gsi where are they to?

    also can one be removed and one left in to pass an mot?

    you have a pre cat and main cat .... just get a de-cat precat and it will pass a m.o.t
    and free up the gases a bit

    pre cat is straight off turbo and main cat is the next section of pipe then its the cat back sytem

    Ah so i just get a new down pipe the.

    would it be bad if i got a 2.5 decat - precat downpipe then had the standard cat on in 2.25 then had a 2.5 cat back system on it?

    nope that will be fine, i had the same set up for a while and it made 300bhp so there wont be any problem running it like that.
