    help please.

    sorry if not in the correct section but im no good with pc,s.
    ok ive took my egr off my mk4 16-8v spi it does have the soot etc on it gave it a clean with throttle cleaner, can any one tell me should you be able to push the pin part at the bottom in as mine isnt moving.
    also the idle control ive taken that out to give it clean and on cleaning the pin came away from the spring, i pushed it back in fitted it to the car when started it revs like mad, so took it back out and unscrewed it out and refitted it but the car doesnt rev on its own for the first 30 secs, any help with the above please.andy.again sorry if in the wrong section.

    Ignore me, I thought you were on about the EGR, not the ICV which I have no clue about

    set the idle control valve plunger so that it sticks out 25mm from the body mating flange. but from the sounds of it you may have knackered it
