Would you grumble at the AA checking your car over?

I was told you can pay the AA x-amount (£50 i think i was told) to check over a car you may possibly be buying & they'll tell you what they find wrong with it.

    Anyone used this service?

More to the thread title - if someone wanted to go down this route, would you let them when it comes to buying your car, or would you grumble about it?

basic inspection starts at £136 for non members.

if I wanted to have it done and the seller refused it, I'd walk away, its not a hassle on their part so it will always look like an attempt to hide faults

If i was selling I'd be totally happy to have the car inspected

I can't see any reason against it, its mutually beneficial for buyer and seller and only costs the potential buyer.

I had AA inspect my Astra ( paid for the middle check) worth it as they gave all round the car, and checked basic things that I missed out on (like spare wheel) report came back, the AA guy was pleased with the report, and since then and 30k of miles, no break down and very reliable. The garage where I bought it from were happy enough for the inspection to take place

I would be more then happy to allow a inspection on any car I have. If someone refused it etc wouldnt it give you second thoughts on buying it?

I wasn't asking whether you'd pay AA to do it

I was asking whether you'd let them inspect your car for a potential buyer

I would, I take great care of my car and keep it immaculate, I have nothing to hide. On the other hand, if I was buying a car, and a seller refused to allow an inspection, I'd tell them to forget about it.
