    Reddot Map & Overboost

    Hi All,

    Just wondering if people with reddot maps get overboost the same as courtenay/regal maps?

    I spoke to the guy at reddot and he didn't know anything about overboost and said his maps hold boost at certain psi but i like overboost as that's what gives the car that initial rush of speed.

    Other wise known as "that surge that sends the front tyres up in smoke and sends you torque steering across the road" If it's a custom map then an overboost function could be written in, but it's a rather brutal way of getting power... a progressive increase in boost would be far more useable on a daily basis and probably a little more gentle on the mechanical side of things too.

    yeh true i just thought that our ecu's did the overboosting thing rather than it being written into the software.

    It is technically the ECU but it's the map (software) and not the actual physical ECU itself.

    Who you speak to mate? was it Pal-law (spelling)?

    my red dot map has over boosts to around 15-16 then settles at 14 and i have the progressive map
