    Slimline fan recommendations

Given the now severe lack of space in the engine bay Im looking at replacing my main radiator fan with 1 or 2 slimline fans, anyone got any recommendations?

Rear fan, the front fan sits above the intercooler so no room to be gained there, given teh size of the rear fan replacing that with a slimline item should free up a huge-ish amount of space.

    Im also looking into this.

The only thing that i was thinking is that slimlines seem to be plastic and not sure if it would stand the heat from the turbo.

That was one of my considerations tbh especialy given how close things are now to the radiator, although I was also contemplating ditching the aircon, granted wont gain a lot of room but every little helps.

David... have you considered driving faster and thus the increased airflow would improve cooling and thus you could do away with a fan altogether?

As for being plastic, they should be fine as long as there is an inch or so space from the turbo. They'll be manufacturered to withstand a fair amount of heat given their intended use. One of the 14" fans would do the job on the rear whilst a coupel of small 6" or 8" fans would be find on the front. However if you're binning the cold air machine, then one single rear mounted fan should be sufficient.

Plus you're from Scotland, 90% of the time ambient temperature struggles to reach double figures!

I did consider just throwing the bonnet to **** and thus helping to alleviate some of the heat problem.
