    Air flow meter

hi guys, just a quick question, i am fitting a 2.2 air box to my gsi, and doing away with the crossover pipe, what i need to know is does the afm have to be in the same position as it is , or can i get away with turning it 180 degrees, i know the flow needs to be in the right direction, but does it matter if the afm is upside down.??? I have seen a few piccies with the afm turnt 180 degrees, if it does work i can get away without cutting the loom and extending it, any help wll be greatly recieved, cheers....
