    power steering pump sound

    hi all, when the car is running and you move the steering wheel you can here a motor or summit like that working when you move the wheel sometimes the sound stays on then if you just move the wheel it goes off, is this norm.thanks.

    I would say yes its normal. If its full lock it stays on by the sounds of mine.

    normal. mine does it also. and my previous astra did as well

    Some are louder than others,
    But by "the sound of things" lol
    yours will be ok,

    Problems arise when the ps isn't functioning properly and one has stiffening or jerkyness in the steering wheel, ie the punp past its best
    i have both a steering rack and a pump gen 2 for sale, removed from a 04 car with very low miles
