    Water in boot

Hi i have a 2000 astra hatch and for some time now ive been unable to figure out how water is getting under the carpet in the boot so decided to ask on here if anyone can help.

Is it possible for water to get through the rubber wiring cover between the car and rear hatch and trickle down into the boot? i ask this because i removed the boot box and noticed water on the roof of the wheel arch behind the box in the boot.
see photos as its hard to describe.

Thanks, if it stays fine this weekend will undo the rear lights and clean round the boot seal and rub a bit of bumper care round em to repel any water, see if that fixes it.
