    idling at 4500rpm and rises

Hi guys my x14xe i have just changed piston rings, headgasket, etc its starting up fine and running but just revs the hell out of itself, we though it was the inlet manifold gasket at first as it was a little wet, so replaced that however its still just racing like mad to 4500rpm and slowly rises, dont want to let it run much incase it damages the rings since there new it shouldnt be revving anywhere up there for another few weeks, anyone any ideas im really stuck ive cleaned out my throttle body

My brothers was bad when i re-built his head, Have you checked the vac hoses, or the throttle position sensor (take it off then start the car see if that helps) or any adjustment in the throttle cable

throttle cables fine, checked most of the hoses only one i can find which is a problem is the fuel pressure valve pipe wont go back on the manifold seems to be damaged, suppose this could cause problems, gonna try replacing that today, took both the ICV and TPS plugs off and they didnt change anything apart from put the engine light on
