    Abs/speed sensor.

Hi was looking at the abs connector on each wheel of my 17 cdti and found the fault to why my abs light is on my dash. it is the speed sensor wire going into the front drivers hub . the wire has been rubbing on the drive shaft and wore though .grrr any way found the fault. now can the sensor be replaced or have i got to fork out about £120.00 + vat for a new hub . any handy tips . also car mot due in next few days .

    replacement hub im afraid

but fear not - they can be had very cheaply

dunno who the hell quoted u the 120+VAT!!!! thats just ludicrous, not even dealer prices either!

im guessin u have the 5 stud model yeah

in which case heres the front hub for your model

oh and its a piece of piss to remove - personally i prefer to remove the entire steering knuckle (so disconnect from bottom of shock, remove track rod end, remove ball joint and push driveshaft thru the knuckle and then tackle the hub removal off the car) so much easier in the long run

SKF is the brand fitted as OE at Vauxhall and thse are just over £90 delivered
    HERE: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vauxhall-Front...item2c54d827f8
**The Retail at Vauxhall for this is £190.00+VAT**

Cheaper hubs can be sourced for a fraction of the price, yet still complete with an equally good 12month warranty etc, try Autovaux and the likes for these

***** However.....here's a cracking item on ebay!!! Its a Genuine Vauxhall part but at a fraction of the price! Even buy it now is only £61 delivered or if ur not in a hurry, try a cheeky bid!
