Brothers car is getting some work done tomorrow...fair price?

He needs 2 new tyres, 2 front disk pads and tracking done, its a 1995 Fiesta and they reckon itll be £280? Seems a bit high to me for such an old car, Im thinking I might go to RSR and get him the tyres there as theyll be a hell of a lot cheaper than Kwik-Fits surely?

    Fleeced big time!!!!!!

i got my set of disks and pads for £30 for a mk4 astra. Assuming the tyres are 17's then budget tyres are around £50 a corner fitted and balanced. If smaller then even cheaper. Then from £20-£30 to do the tracking.

As we don't know the engine size here is an example, discs and pads

Never use kwik fit. Royally ripped off.

Also never use kwik fit for tyres. remember i could have got 2 toyo tyres for £116 fitted for a 16 inch wheel. They wanted £105 but i quote "we can do it for you today for £90" erm, no thanks....just get two for £116 fitted

Yes we can all get parts cheaper but then most of us are fitting them ourselves. I wouldn't mind betting kwik fit aren't fitting budget tyres for that price

Ima at least get him tyres cheaper from RSR, but even this place near me called Mr Clutch does front disks and pads for £129 fitted, even that sounds extreme :\

His will have either solid or vented discs'

Even fitting branded (Pagid) brakes they would only be about £45

Then tyres would be about £30 each

    Tracking about £30

So all in for good stuff it would only be about £100 ish plus an hours labour to fit.

Using cheap parts would drop the price to about £70 for parts and like the others have said 'if you were closer I could have done them for you'

If you want to bring it to Portsmouth your more than welcome.
