    Oil pressure warning light.

Just went to move the car forward out of the garage there and the oil warning light is staying on. It was ok last night when I drove home and hasn't been touched till there just now. Anything common on these? The pressure switch itself failed on my veccy a couple of months ago. Could it be as simple as that with this or are they common for something more serious?

Also where is the oil pressure switch on this? I'm working with a trolly jack and axle stands so access is a tad limited.

Swapped the pressure switch with the one off the veccy and it's still staying on. Astra one is working ok on the vec. Is my pump looking like the suspect?

dropped the sump and found bits of the oil filter in it!

totally cleaned out the sump, oil pickup pipe, oil filter housing and as much of the oil pump as i could without removing it. the old filter looks like it was starting to break up (geniune vauxhall long life one too!)

rebuilt it with new sump gasket new oil filter and some 5w 30 oil that an ex vauxhall tech i know told me to use in it.

started it up and jobs a guddun.

going to do another oil and filter change when i get back from billing to give it a bit of a clean out. the oil that came out of it was a bit dirty looking.
