    Thumbs Up My Story

Right. Hello all! New here, posted a few times, you might have seen me! Names Jamie & I live in the Isle of Skye. Yup, middle of nowhere. I own an Astra G, 1.4LS in silver, which is my first car. Got it May last year with 63k on clock, just before I turned 17, and learned to drive in it! Passed in November,(second time round on practical), and haven't stopped driving ever since! Never had many big plans for the car as chances are I'll write it off (), and because I need to save most of the money I earn for college/uni next year. So decided I only wanted to tidy it up, and enjoy it! Started off with 2 and a half vx wheel trims, in crap condition, and one spanking new toyota one(don't ask me), so they came off and a 35quid set of unofficial vx ones from ebay went on(as vx ones were £110!) I know what you'll say ahh should've got alloys, in which case, read above!! But most importantly they match! Re-attached door trim on one door, aftermarket HU, fixed bonnet release, and that was all really, everything else fine except aircon not working

Stumbled across this place looking for a fix for bonnet release, and glad I did. So many good ideas, and friendly, helpful people! Since then i've done Insignia washer jets and £7odd flatblades, have just bought a de badged grill from member on here. As this is a simple little change which, in my opinion, makes front end look alot better.

So no mods as such but small upgrades which make journeys a little better lol. No more plans for this one, maybe debadge rear and colour code door trim but thats it.

Plan on getting a mk5 1.7 cdti xp next time, as these look proper tidy, and it'll only be one insurance group higher, which is a major plus being 18 year old male.

Pics to follow, although it's just your average 1.4 ls!
    Thanks All!

Do agree. Wouldn't of said the same 7 years ago, when we moved up. But have grown to love it!
