    How low on standard shocks?

I've decided to get some different springs for my car but the ones I'm getting are between 80/100mm drop, they are custom made by spax. Thing is I'm worried about the shocks/arches/tyres etc etc, what will I need to remove or adjust so they don't rub and will standard shocks suffice? I'm currently on 215/45/17 tyres.

Not 100% on drop links but standard shocks will be horrible on that drop, though as you'll have no suspension travel anyhow maybe you don't need to worry!

remove all inner arches - or just let the tyres rub them away!!!

ditch the rubber for 40% profile to stand any chance (or should i say to limit the rubbing)

drop links are the least of ur worries - id just get some new bog standard ones - £20 for Delphi ones off ebay (or about the same for mk5 ones on trade club - same as mk4 but cheaper)

oh and some uprated shocks!!!!!! even if u cant stretch to proper uprated shortened shocks then at least get some newer ones

even some cheap as chips shorter ones will be better than what u have!

is it worth all the hassle though???

what about the rest of the drivetrain and potential damage at that ride height??

mine is bad enough at 50mm on both car and van - sump and tranny so close to the ground - each to their own though

    good luck

I'm 50/40 at the mo but front still sits quite high for some reason So do you think it's worth getting these springs or will it be more worth while getting coilovers?
