    Road legal pressed metal plates

So i see these are now road legal, not german font but still metal

    http://www.platemyride.com/uk-legal-plates/

Wonder how many arguments will be had at the roadside with police issuing fines for them and the motorist trying to argue that they are legal.

as long as their reflective and the right font there is nothing police can do, the ones shown on website you've given are correct font, cant speak for reflectiveness though, and the post codes are only required on cars registered since 2001 i believe anyway

On 'Police Interceptors' they done a fella in a Golf for his plates, one of the UK plate laws is that it should be made from plastic apparently.

When i heard about the pressed metal plates being legal i was sceptical. was done with the german font on the other car so back to original plates. Always thought they had to be acrylic. Assuming that the metal plates are now reflective then this is how they are road legal. can see a few disputes coming up with regards to police pulling over people for these. Will just stick with my fully legal chopped down number plates i think

Got mine from dubmeister as well, as long as have the british standard marking then they are legal. As far as i'm aware there is nothing on DVLA website that says they have to made from plastic, Just that they have to be from reflective material.

I wonder if it's possible then, to have a set made up to BS from a piece of mirror, with the correct font sprayed on with glass plate.

Would technically be reflective and have appropriate spacing/font/lettering. Would stop the gatso's flashing you too, as they'd just get a patch of white light when it went off

Lol nice one. . .. . i suppose it could be made from from glass plate but i think the BS standard covers the reflective coating which would still have to be white on the front and yellow on the rear.
