    New Pads Needed

Has anyone else had this problem?

Rang up Vauxhall earlier cause ive got the brake pad warning light come up on dash, they couldnt give me a price as they needed to know weather the brakes are Lucus or Bosch?

Thought they would all be the same on the GSI?

I think they are referring to the rears, Lucas or Bosch, as Danny says, fronts are all the same.

If you have the brake pad warning message its the fronts that need doing and they are all the same as Danny said. Only the rears differ between Bosch and Lucas but they aren't connected to the warning system. When the rears get low a metal bracket makes contact with the disc giving a squealing sound.

BTW Vaux changed the TC price for the 1.9 308mm set-up, its now £103.88 + VAT P/N 93190163 for discs and pads

For just pads is £36.99 + VAT P/N 93181189 Astra turbo spec, or Zaffy 1.9/2.0T spec is 93176115 £21.49. Unsure of difference in quality between these two?

They are trade club prices, retail is £134.00 for discs+pads, £59.50 for just pads (both not inc VAT again). You would need to become a full member on here to get access to TC prices, unless you already have it through another VBOA club

Well after a bit of investigation ive sorted the problem.
Took wheels off, and the pads are new ish and are still bedding in, the pad sensor wire had 2 breaks on the drivers side and 1 on the passenger side!
So the discs are fine, and so are the pads, repaired the old sensors, all good, no warning.
