    Question Any psoriasis sufferers here?

I have had psoriasis since the age of 12/13, I used to go to the doctors for treatment often, but when I was about 16 I stopped going as I didnt see the point and no results.

As time goes on I know that so does medicines do also.

So I am wondering if anyone else on here has it and what do you use and does it help with the dryness/redness/itcyness. Of course I know it will never go away but anything to make it look better.

I do not suffer badly with it, I have it mild, I only have it on both shins and a bit on scalp.

I had it on arms and elbows but its moved from there.

    any help would be great

I've suffered since the age of about 10. Mainly face, around my nose and my scalp.

Now its just my scalp. I was prescribed so many different things that never worked but i found that PolyTar (brown bottle) works ace. ask your doctor for it. 1 bottle will last me 6 months. just use it once a week.

the other helping hand was to keep my hair short i.e grade 1 or 2 but thats ok as it suits me even tho i look like a bouncer/thug lol

    also a sufferer m8..

i get it mostly on my lower body so its always hidden..

over the last few years tho its attacked me on my face, wround my eyes and nose and neck..

i just use a parafin wax oil to soften them up and sometimes even use that as a body wash..

I use the polytar stuff mate, I buy that from asda, but I hate the smell of it.

people say that the sun helps it, but i dont like wearing shorts because of the skin on my legs, so the last couple of days I have been lying in the back garden hoping for results soon.

I will give that parafin wax oil a shot, where do you get that from stu?

I have it on knees, and one ankle, always gets better in the summer and when I used to water ski etc.

As we live in a hardwater area, I fitted a water softener about 10 months ago and most of it has cleared up, its the best its ever been in 30+ years.

I have tried all the creams etc and none really worked, some used to make it itch so much that it made it worse.

its in a big white tub, 250g a think..

    called
    JML Loveridge ltd
Liquid paraffin 50% in white soft parrifin.

I got it via the hospital when i went for my check ups last month..

you get it from the pharmacy in tesco buddy

this stuff http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Bells-White-So...item4ced68d97d would do the same job tho m8.. it softens up the scabs and helps allot for the less annoying ones

I also use Polytar for m head and for the really clumpy scabs on the head use Bethamethasone Valerate 0.1% scalp cream.. again ur GP will get u this ( tesco )
