Goodwood Festival of Speed - need advice if you have been before.

I am going to the goodwood festival of speed this year and I need to order tickets. Is it worth having the grandstand seats or just the general admission tickets? We are going on the Sunday if that makes any difference.?

Also any other pointers to make the most of the day from those that have been for?

    cheers

Awesome day out, we'll be there on the friday.

Grandstand is nice but then you feel like you need to use it as you've paid for it. There are plenty of other areas to stand.

Grandstand is good if the weather turns bad.

We only used the grandstand when we had complimentary tickets.

Yeah i have to agree with Rich the Grandstand aint worth the extra money you pay for them. There are plenty of good viewing points to watch the cars doing there hill runs

I went for the first time last year,as we got tickets from work. Its an awesome day out,but very very busy,so be prepared, traffic was a nightmare. We just had general tickets and found that we did want to go in the grandstand,as your limited by what you see then. Its fantastic though, and well worth the trip. Should be going again this year hopefully. Just makesure you take a hat and sun cream,as if its like this, you will get roasted. Food and drink is expensive, but then you would expect that.

Traffic is what I am fearing the most, which is why I am getting the train to Chichester and Bus to Goodwood. Even tempted to cycle from station to Goodwood.

I am going on Saturday. Should be one of the best so far.

    brillant Thanks all

As I am taking my 2 nephews as well (10 and 12) I think I will give the grandstands a miss as they will want to keep moving all day. Is there enough to see for a full day IE get there early or can it be a leisurely get up and go?
