    Exclamation temperature guage

hey guys....i've got an astra G 2000 model....1.6, 16v..... recently when i start the engine the radiator light immediately lights up on the dash and the engine fan comes on and is blowing at a crazy ass speed...the temperature guage on the dash doesnt seem to be workin because even after driving for hours the needle doesnt move from the cold position..the engine seems to cooling properly tho...what can be the problem here guys??

If it's not getting up to working temperature then I would suspect the thermostat. The radiator hose from the stat should remain cold until the stat starts to open at working temp. If the hose warms up before working temp. then the stat is stuck open or opening too early.
As for the other problem with the "radiator light" and fans running, then I have no experience off this but the coolant control module on these cars seems to be the usual culprit.

I wonder if your problems are because of a faulty temp sensor, then they don't work the car puts the fans on because it has no idea whatthe engine temp is

This should be caused by the "Coolant Control Unit", but Check the coolant fan(s) fuses and relay & the CTS "Coolant Temperature Sensor".

In my ASTRA-G DTI 2.0L the fans don't work at all even when the temp is high (above 90). so I found a workaround that is disconnecting the CTS (Coolant Temprature Sensor) and this brings the fans to full speed and brings that yellow light of the coolant with the star in it to be lit. So I care less, so far it cools down when the sensor is disconnected.
I know mine probably has either the sensor faulty or the "coolant control unit" as defect.
