    Lightbulb Learning to machine polish...

I want to learn the ways of the machine polisher.

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...tchlink:top:en

Is this a good starting kit to get? Is there anything that will suit a total beginer? Any info would be much appreciated. I'll have a go on some old car I got lying around and just some old panels from the scrapyard.... till I get enough practise to do my own lol . Whatcha think?

Avoid the wool head for starters. They are up to 50% more abrasive/aggressive than a regular head so if you are going to burn through with anything it will be that.

Then ditch the G3 and get yourself some Fast Cut Plus instead.

Yup that's right. It's their main compound, has no filler in it and comes up nice and quick.

I looked at clean your car but it seems they don't actually hold any stock at all. Where would be a good place to buy a reasonable priced machine polisher with a varying speed? Also what pads should I use??

Clean your car is the best IMO. They have the G220 in stock and the DAS-6 Pro. They are both DA's, if you want a rotary they have the Chicago in stock but thats expensive compared to the other two they don't have ATM.

As for pads, I've only used Sonus ones but have lasted well. Have got a lake country spot pad, but only used it once so can't really pass judgement yet.

5" Menzerna pads are a good buy, very durable.
