engine wont start after being started

Could someone be of any help, i have an zaffi gsi on an 03 plate and had a problem afew weeks ago when engine would cut out once or twice within acouple of days but then went away. A couple of weeks later i started to get this problem where if the engine has been started and then stopped then restarted again within a couple of mins it wont start engine turns over but wont fire,so then leave it for 5 mins starts first time and runs fine. now the first problem has returned as well where every now and then the engine cuts out leave for 5 mins starts again. now im thinking that the problem might be with the engine getting too hot and there is some sort of thermal cut out or some sensor is on the way out but has anyone got any other ideas many thanks if someone could help

does any1 reckon it could be a faulty coil pack once warmed up or do they just run on 3 cylinders when faulty?

Coil pack would usually be a misfire and maybe limp mode if the eml light were to come on.

I had this problem on my Astra about a year ago, it would run fine then all of a sudden when it was hot if i turned it of it would not start.

But if i left it for 30min it would then start, it turned out to be the crankshaft sensor, hope this helps
