What's the state of your Astra(s) as it stands today?

While your motor may look tidy, it may have a whole host of issues wrong with it then the unsuspecting admirer may not know about.
Plenty of threads on the positives etc, but what's your grumble(s) about your car & what you got?

    For me....

    Car:

    51 plate 1.8 SRi

    My gripes:

    • Paintwork is scratched to buggery, but i can't justify silly money getting it sorted.
    • Has a couple of fault codes stored which were with the car when i bought it in 2008. These are only apparent through the pedal test though & not fault code readers, which makes me question the reliability of the pedal test
    • Air con is funked, which isn't fun. In this weather it's a nightmare & in winter it was handy on my Escort for clearing the windscreen. It's the evaporator which has gone & i was quoted £500 for repair
    • De-badged the rear which has left outlining of the badges as scratches, albeit fine ones.
    • Grey bump strips....on a black car & they're grey, very grey. Plan on sorting these when we have consistent warm weather though
    • Tear in the drivers seat
    • Rusting rear wheel arch, although it doesn't LOOK terribly rusty. It's more pinhead bobbles under the paint. Undecided on whether to get this treated or not

That's about it. Nothing drastic really. The air con one is really irritating though.

02 plate SXi...Bodywork is my only 'issue', both bumpers need a little attention, door strips I'd prefer to replace with coupe ones so they don't keep cracking at the edges and the skirts both had paint splits from poor jacking by a garage, and bonnet looks a tad hand painted. Interior is pretty immaculate as I've driven the car for 99.9% of its life.

Body work will have to wait for next years show season, I can't afford to touch it at the moment but I would like to get the passenger side arch sorted before the salt in winter as the rust is almost to the edge of the lip now and another winter may see it pop onto the side of the arch.

I'm not interested enough to go and look for faults TBH

But it' not been polished nor vacuumed out for 2 years and one week now ... I'm rather proud of that fact

Your car must be pretty spot on if you have to look for faults. Not bad at all. If i went looking, i could probably find more, but those are the ones off the top of my head.

Same arch in my case Chris. The drivers arch appears to be quite decent. Had a quote of £120 to get it sorted. That's base price though as in, simple as you like, no complications. If they took it back & the rust was worse than they thought, it'd obviously go up.
Been recommended another place which i need to go check out when i fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinally get a Saturday off work & see what they can quote me.

More like I've not been near it in a few weeks.. ergo I'm not acquainted with it's foibles these days.

    Car
    Astra J 2.0 CDTi

    Faults/niggles
Wish I'd had the factory bluetooth fitted
    Needs a wash
Still 20miles away from being able to be remapped
Thorney haven't got the map ready yet
Done 980miles in under 2 weeks of ownership

    Car
    Vectra B 2.6 V6 CDX

    Faults/niggles
    Heated passenger seat doesn't work
Condenser for the climate control needs replacing
Wood effect trim needs colour coding - still
Parking sensors are connected to a dodgy earth and have a mind of their own
Heatshield around the backbox is loose and knocking
Need a loom to finish Parrot installation
Needs a good clean inside and out
    Rust on doors
    Temperature sensor is broken
Traffic master info randomly comes on - will be getting disconnected and wired as a door lock button instead, eventually.
Front bumper needs a scuff touching up
Passenger side bump strip needs a touch up
Some arsehole has slid down the back passenger side door and scuffed the paint (looks like jeans were worn), so needs machining out.
    Gaz

    No longer owns an Astra

Bye bye VXR Castle Combe Edition - because it's done more laps of Castle Combe than most Bergs have of the Ring

Car - Astra coupe turbo nocturnal blue
well besides the induction pipes looking like they resemble a rubiks cube (colour wise) the current problem I have is the front bumper driver side, it's missinga screw so it only clipped it, so when I go above 85 sometimes it pops back out making it look like I've had a bump or something

    Car

    1.8 chianti red coupe 2001 (y reg)

    Faults/niggles!

    Well..

The rear bumper has a small scrape peeled the laquer off, only noticable if you know its there and from that its caused it to look rippled in the paint almost like its cracking.
Needs a full major service almost 2 years over due oops!
Satnav centre console needs re-painting as the sun bubbled it last time!
    Coilovers need lowering more
Headlights need aligning - point a little too high on dipped!
Cat scratches on the roof, or is it the seagulls that do it...

And im sure there is more but i cant think of anything else to fault!
    Chianti Red Cabriolet Turbo
