    Alarm keeps going off

    my alarm doing my head in

    it keeps going off for no apparent reason

    some times its fine for ages and sometimes it will keep going off

    any ideas where to start ?

    also how can i lock the car with the alarm off ?

    You can lock it by pressing the lock button on the fob once or you can use the key in the door

    I very much doubt a single press won't arm the alarm, also locking the car with the key only does that one door on the MK5's if I remember right. You'd have to lock the doors with the button inside then do the drivers door on it's own

    Loads of things car cause it to go off so i'd recomend getting it onto tech2 or opcom. Power sounders are common faults on the MK4's and i'd expect them to start going wrong on the MK5's too now given the age some can be

    so lean in and lock the doors from inside then shut the pass door ?

    Unless all the doors open when they are locked by the switch you can probably get away with pressing the inside button, getting out then relocking the drivers door with the key barrell
