    Wiring Electric Windows

    I've just bought a MK4 Astra Van & I've also just bought:

    Window Regulators
    Door Loom
    Door Switches

But... I don't have the wiring in the car already in place.

I know i'll need a 12v Constant (Which I'll run fused cables from the battery to each door) and a 12v Ignition switched (Where's best to pull this from?)

And I also know I need to run cables from the drivers door to the passengers (switches).

Question is though, how do I wire the switches up and have I covered everything?

    Thanks!

You can probably take the accessory live from the headunit mate as the switches don;t take a lot of current. For the swithes you just need to take the 2 wires that go from the drivers switch to the passenger door and join thm onto the up and down from the passenger switch in the passenger door

You have forgotten the earth wire needs to be taken to the earth points in each kickpanel and the total closure wire can be added if you want also but i'm not sure the locking unit will have the wiring in place

I'd left the total closure as i'm pretty sure the locking unit doesn't look like it has anywhere near the wiring of my GSi or SRi. Not really fussed about that anyway.

Would it be safe to pull the accessory from the lighter socket?

    Thanks for the help!

It would be fine to take it there mate but the windows will only work with the ignition on then
