    Not in for a parcel

I ordered something from Amazon which wont fit in the letterbox i dont think.
Anyway i go on holiday tomorrow at about half 11am which is just a bit too early as my post normally comes at 12ish.
I hoped it would come today but it didnt. So i wont be around for a week to go to the sorting office to get it.
So my question is how long will the sorting office keep the parcel before returning it to sender (Amazon)?

    Thanks

I doubt the postman would do that, but if he does i would just have to claim it never arrived so get another one sent out.

sometimes they leave on the doorstep, I'd had that a few times. However can you not ask an neighbor or relative to pop in and check it is there or has arrived, or even ask them to pop down to the sorting office with a signed note from you. I.e collect via proxy

leave a note on the door asking them to hold onto it and you will arrange redelivery. 7 days will be fine. they hold recorded signed for deliveries for 7 days and all other items for 3 weeks. I've got to collect something which has been at the sorting office since the 28th, as the corsa courtesy car wasn't big enough to collect it in

I didn't think amazon uses royal mail anymore?

Anyway in these situations I ask a neighbour is they mind me leaving a note on my door saying that if i'm out please leave it there instead
