    new to engine mods

    hello i cuurently have a turbo convertible with a vxr turbo fitted i am just wondering if i should get it chipped, will i need a FMIC to gain power? and how much bhp gain will i be looking at thanx for the help adam

    i would reccommend getting a cat back exhaust of some sort with a pre-cat decat and a FMIC... should see 230+with a decent map.

    im running 266 with 301 torque

    you dont need a fmic but it would defo help

    convertible mate dont fancy the sound of exhaust grunting away with the roof down lol, would have a nice quiet one tho

    How have you pulled 266 out of a pre cat and cat back ? lol

    it may be old skool these days - but do all the physical mods first then as a last stage, get a remap (chips are for old chariots or strange ECUs !!)

    Mine was pushing 235bhp on a standard map with all the physical mods done prior to being taken off the road .... with a map i expect it to be in the region of 265-270 and thats whilst still retaining driveability and a relatively safe level of fuelling.

    alternatively, u could always just get a remap on ur standard parts - wont get the best benefit and a lot of the parts will be on their limit but if bullshit and bravado pub talk is what ur after then this maybe the one for you
