    Was it a fox?

I'm sure you've seen the sorry story of the little girls getting mauled and a fox being blamed, but foxes are timid animals and is one likely to enter a house, go up stairs and attack children?

    Was is a pet dog?
Tell me what you've done, not what you're going to!

Foxes are more 'cat like' in their nature, so I'd be very very surprised if the culprit was a Fox

i had a fox kill one of my cats last year, but i'm struggling to believe one walked into and upstairs a house. a dog sounds a more likely suspect

I thought a fox would smell strong enough that you would know it was in the house

I would have thought if a dog was involved the papers would have picked up on it pretty quickly tbh. I didn't read the story but IIRC they were very young, so would have been in a cot?
Therefore it would have needed to be an animal that could have easily lept into the cots with them. No trouble at all for a fox to do that, unsure about dogs. I know there is no way my westie would be able to do it

The parents said they saw the fox in the bedroom though, and it took several lunges from the dad for it to actually get out?

Yea but the neighbour chased a fox out of their house the night before. But next question is why leave the back door open? I can understand windows wide open but a door seriously just asking for trouble. It was either going to be that or they had something stolen by an oportunist.
Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, if he gets angry, he's a mile away and barefoot.

The parents were sat in the room though or the room next to it. Nothing wrong with leaving patio doors open IMO while your there watching TV.
